First update for Miner4Ever

Few hours ago it was published on Xbox the first update for Miner4Ever, after only 9 days since its first release.
This update fixes some few bugs reported by some users and adds some new features.
Here's a list of the changes:

  • fixed an issue with the generation of the buildings in the world (some levels were missed);
  • major speed optimizations (less lags, better terrain generation)
  • level loading speed increased
  • friends bonus now works (the more friends play M4E the more your hourly production increases)
  • few cosmetic changes
  • last but not least were added 26 new blocks for your enjoyment

if you find a bug or simply want to suggest a feature, please write a mail to support@gameccino.com

Remember to follow the official facebook page and/or the twitter!

Thank you for making M4E so great!

  1. So I find that this update has caused graphic rendering to become screwy. At points the blocks refuse to render and are transparent although they are initialized; in the worst case I found blocks being uninitialized which disallowed them from being destroyed or walked through...

    1. thanks R41D3NN, top agents (that is me) are investigating! When does this happens more frequently? (For example: digging deep, or in unexplored areas, or in heavy modified areas.)

    2. This occurs on surface mostly. I notice it occurs more frequently when traveling great distances. To fix it I restart game which seems to do the trick.

  2. Still can't find any lvl 3 extractors :(

  4. So I have noticed another issue: Not always do the torches light up... It seems to be spatial, need confirmation on that, but when a torch isn't lit up and u remove to place another right there, it won't work again. Also lighting just stops in mid air, like as if there is a box holding it in.

    1. when you're offline the resources will update at a reduced rate (around 1/5 of the normal rate) depending on the extractors lvl and the timespan (so it could be few units up to thousands)

  6. ok so i encountered a really stupid bug, i was near a level 4 iron extractor, really really wishing i could just skip level 3 extractors and go straight for 4 BECAUSE THERE IS NO LEVEL 3 EXTRACTORS, i followed every co-ordinate on your site and the face book site and NONE of them are what they are. But any way, i left triggered off the level 4 iron extractor and now my iron is level 0, i go to check the level 1 iron extractor and it is already built so i can't recover my iron levels. please look into this and PLEASE stop giving out false co-ordinates to level 3/4 extractors. This game has a lot of potential you just gotta keep working at it.

    1. Hi Fieron,
      I had another gamer encountering the same bug but your description helps me a lot in figuring out how it could happen. Next release will fix this and recover the correct mine level. thanks a lot!
      Regarding the coords, sorry, some of them are outdated and I simply forget to delete or correct the past ... posts.. totally my fault.
      I'm working hard to make this game better and funnier day by day with the help of our great miners community.

  7. RadR0y here. I have played for 7 days cant find the lvl 2 coal extractor. Does it exist? i chatted with the player in first place army airborne and we did a lot of exploring and coordinate matching etc. Also while exploring i made a big hole in my world. ITs about a 15 by 15 square. I had mined a HUGE coal deposit. It happened when i restarted back into my game. I respawned and just started falling through the world. Luckly i could hit respawn and still move so i could avoid the hole. This is a cool game and i like it. Gold is very hard to find as is expected. Does it respawn faster? sometimes it seems like there are 1 or 2 spots then i'll walk for a bit and find 5 or 6.

    1. Hi RadR0y, the lvl2 coal extractor does not exists, a bug of this version that will be fixed in the upcoming update. That extractor was overwritten by the start environment with a lvl2 lab, my bad.
      Next update will have a new world where the gold is very rare to find on the terrain but on the other hand there will be 'mines' of gold that will be shown on the map if you get the right tech (from the lab)

  8. hey, try 5029, 5010 to get a level 2 coal extractor

  9. Hey I noticed the x2 flags aren't giving me my double points. Also I was wondering if it would be possible to raise the ceiling at all? It sucks only being able to build 2 blocks higher than the surrounding hillsides. Great game anyway, highly addictive. I hope the bugs and glitches get ironed out soon. Thanks!

  12. Some observations and requests, if you are interested;

    - Toggling music
    Clicking "Music On", changes the button to "Music Off". Clicking this button then remains at "Music Off".
    Resuming the game, then hitting pause (start) will then show the correct on/off status.

    - In-game voice.
    I can hear the voice of another gamer, but do not know who I hear, why I hear them or how to turn off their voice other than to either disconnect my internet connection or turn off my speakers.

    - Jumping out of bounds
    I accidentally jumped above the ceiling/sky "lava" and became trapped above the boundary. I could walk around (in the sky), but could not make it back to the ground without clicking respawn.
    I accomplished this by standing on a block, jumping up and then placing a block below my feet. (Repeat a few times)

    Requested options;
    - Volume / music / in-game voice audio volume levels.
    - Ability to toggle or view all of the production stats instantly (without having to wait for it to automatically change)
    - Turn off the walk-bob/bounce. The bounce might give the movement a more realistic feeling, but it seems excessive and I would prefer to not have the bounce.

    I understand this is a game in progress. However, there are a few gameplay and rendering items I would also like to comment on. I hope they are somewhere on your list. :)

    The rendering of the game is often slow. After walking around (for example 50 coordinate units away from starting base, or perhaps around for for 15 minutes) the game gets slower and slower. On one occurrence, the game slowed down to where I could move one or two "steps" but the screen would take a second to redraw. After a couple of minutes of this, an error appeared on the screen and I was taken to the dashboard.

    Gold!
    Gold is fairly easy to find, but it is a very slow process compared to the amount of gold needed. It seems it would take over 6+ hours of walking around just collecting gold is required to reach level 3 or level 4 tech. Perhaps another way of obtaining gold would be better - such as a gold extractor, or pockets of gold to mine from. The majority of game play has been "walking around for gold, one brick at a time". Combined with the rendering issues above, this is a negative part of the game for me. Only a small portion of the game appear to be actual "mining", and most of that is early on to build the low level extractors.

    I am somewhat curious about the "take up to half an opponents resources" flag too. Does that mean someone who has played the game for a few days can potentially take half of the resources of someone who has played the game for a month (taking weeks worth of resources away.) If this was the case, I would rather unplug my internet connection and play offline. ;)

    I look forward to the next update!

  13. I have three other comments regarding movement.
    To me, the collision detection for when you're on the edge of a block seems to make it too easy to accidentally fall off the edge of a block.

    The second comment is in regards to the cross-hair. When you 'mine' (clear) a block, the cross-hair does not adjust or select the newly visible block behind it until you move.
    Likewise, I have seen many times where I look at a block (it gets selected) then I look away, but the block remains selected even if I am looking elsewhere.

    The third comment (or request) is related to the range of motion for looking around. It's not possible to look directly up to clear a block above my head (or directly down, although this may be to not make it obvious that I have no legs.)

    After reading the previous posts again, I noticed you covered the gold searching subject already. :)

  14. I now have a huge hole in my world near the initial spawn point. this whole goes through the lava level and allows me to fall forever. It also took out a good portion of a structure I built and a huge amount of coal and iron ore.

  15. I have encountered a problem with the generation of blocks on a certain level of the map. At the bottom level of the sand pits I cannot generate blocks, but if i delete blocks on the same level around the areas, I can rebuild them. But one space over, it generates them on the level above them. My friend also attempted it and the same glitch happened to him. It only happens in the sand pit areas and nowhere else on the map.
